Long Beach Moto Swap

I rarely wake up before 11 except for special occasions, this is one of those occasions. Once a month I set my alarm for 6 am, get on my motorcycle & head to Long Beach for their "Cycle Swap Meet" at the Veterans Stadium. It's seriously fucking amazing! It has all the random gems you would see at typical swap meets mixed together with everything having to do with the v-twin culture. Since it only happens once a month basically anyone who owns a motorcycle & lives in a 50 mile radius of Long Beach makes the pilgrimage. The next swap meet is in February & even if you're not into motorcycles or classic cars you should definitely check it out.

We're fat & we like food. So we end up wasting about half the money we make on filling our faces with delicious food. It's also what we do most weekends & this weekend was no exception. We went out to dinner at Mimi's Cafe near our house where Joellen enjoyed a soup & salad while I ordered a massive breakfast (It was 7pm). The food was pretty average to be honest & I think it's the last time we'll ever eat there. The menu variety is really limited & everything is absolutely overpriced. I think Joellen was really let down about our dinner since it's where she worked in her younger years & has always been a strong advocate of their food. Either way I still enjoyed myself being with Chu on a Friday night. (The Hello Kitty cupcakes were bought after dinner at our local cupcake spot)

The Gasoline Gallery

Last saturday we went to the opening reception of the third annual New Years Nuisance art exhibit at the Gasoline Gallery in El Segundo. The exhibit featured over 40 artists with all types of mediums being represented but with one underlying tone and influence being motorcycle & Car culture. The walls were filled with amazing pieces that had us overwhelmed & I quickly began to shoot photos of everything that crossed my peripheral vision. The art varied but common themes like Frankenstein & Rat Fink (my personal favorite) were very prominent. The atmosphere of the Gasoline Gallery was probably the highlight for me personally. Motorcycles, classic cars, beer & a giant green rat. Could anything be more perfect?
